CUSTOM ACRYLIC & GEL LUXURY PRESS ON NAILS

How Apply Press-On Nails Like a Pro! Tips & Tricks

Applying

The best application starts with preparation! Begin by washing your hands removing any excess oils and dirt. After pushing back your cuticles to remove excess skin, cleanse the nail with an alcohol prep pad to ensure there are no oils or dirt on your hands,

This prep helps the press-ons better adhere to your nails.  You can also press a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol onto your nails. This crucial step will also help to remove any existing polish.

Buff the nail bed using the nail file for better grip and hold. Push back the cuticle using the orange wood stick included.  For extra protection of your nail bed from the nail glue applying a top coat to your natural nail is optional.

Apply glue or adhesive to your nail. Apply the nail tip. Hold for 10 seconds, repeat!  While it may be tempting to file the press-on as soon as it hits your natural nail, wait until after you’ve applied the entire set to shape. Always contour the nails from the sidewalls to taper them for an even more natural look.  Be sure to keep your hands away from water for the first hour or so.

Removal

Removing press-on nails is fairly easy to do,  If you are applying a press-on with self-adhesive or double sided tab, it can simply be removed with warm water and a little oil.  If nail glue was used you still have easy options for removal.

When removing your nails you have 2 options; fast removal without reusing the tips or a longer soak off with reusable options.

For fast removal without the option of reusing; tips can be removed by soaking for 10-15 minutes in 100% acetone.  Another alternative is to use a glue remover like Glue Off by KISS Products.

Should you want to reuse your nails see below for step by step directions
Soak your hands in warm soapy water. A mixture of Dawn dish washing liquid and cuticle oil work best. Soak for at least 10-20 minutes.
Once the tips become loose use gentle nudging with a wood nail cuticle stick to remove any remaining bond and glue. You can then use a hand file or handheld drill if available to remove any excess glue from under the tip.
